2021 Tax Information

Information for McLennan County residents on available tax forms and assistance.

Each year the library requests IRS forms to make available to the public.

All of our branches will be getting the 1040 form and 1040 instruction booklet sometime in February

Currently, Central Library has W-2s, W-3s, 1099- MISC, and 1096.

 

 

Where can I get help filing my taxes?

At the Library: Beginning on February 16, 2022, the students of La Vega High School will provide tax assistance to citizens on Mondays and Wednesday from 10 am to 3 pm in the Central Library (1717 Austin Ave.) Meeting Room. Please bring your government issued ID and social security cards. They will not be here on March 7, 9, and 14. 

Around the City and County: Local Tax Assistance by VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program) is offered at the following locations:

  • La Vega High School - Tax assistance begins February 1, 2022 and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 pm through April 14, 2022. 
  • University High School  - Tax assistance begins January 25, 2022 and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 pm through April 14, 2022. Students will also provide assistance at the locations and dates listed below:
    • Waco Workforce Center on February 9 and March 16
    • Marlin Workforce Center on February 16
    • Hillsboro Workforce Center on February 23

Please bring your government issued ID and social security cards.

No appointment needed, but you can call 254-752-1647 for more information on what is required.

What about W-2s?

Central Library has W-2 forms available--limit 5 sheets per patron. W-2s can be filed online through the Social Security Administration's website.
