Kindergarten Readiness: School Subjects

One of the most important components of Kindergarten Readiness is a child's knowledge of different subjects that they will be introduced to in Kindergarten and will encounter during their entire school career. Preparing them early for these subjects will help them easily transition into school!

In this part of the guide, you'll find five sub-topics to review:
Art & Colors, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Early Writing.

After choosing a sub-topic, this subject page will take you to a new page of the guide. As previously stated, you will find a checklist of skills related to the subject, as well as books and resources to help your child succeed in kindergarten. There will also be some tips for incorporating the five early literacy practices of Every Child Ready to Read (playing, reading, singing, talking, and writing) at home!
